# Modular paint rack generator

Open the generator at https://hobbykit.app/paint-racks.

Stand your paints in stepped rows so every label shows. Each bottle gets a hex cell capped by a flat deck: a round pocket above the deck holds a Citadel pot, label wrap and all, and a bore through the deck holds a 24.5mm dropper bottle such as Vallejo, AK or Army Painter on a ledge, with a hole beneath to push a stuck bottle out. Everything under the decks is hollow, with walls shared between neighbouring cells, so the rack prints without infill. Set the pocket depth to zero for flat decks that pots stand on, which prints faster.

Build the rack from left to right and grow it from either side as your collection does: modules of any width, and corners that turn the rack 90° round an inside corner. Pieces already printed never change when you add another, and each piece downloads on its own. Where a corner's two runs meet, cells too narrow for a bottle are capped and filled with brush holes, each a tube standing on the table so a brush rests on its end. Set the hole size to clear the widest part of your brushes' handles, such as a triangular grip. Add an end at either side to step the rack's sides back with the rows, holding a few more bottles. The preview shows the whole loadout assembled, and every piece downloads separately: STLs arrive as one archive numbered left to right, and a 3MF puts each piece on its own build plate. Neighbouring modules interlock along their zigzag edges with a small clearance. Cell size, deck heights, pockets, seats, and wall thickness apply to the whole loadout. Every piece prints upright with supports off; each deck bridges a few millimetres between the walls and its bore.
